Topas Ecolodge – Sapa
Topas Ecolodge is not like any other hotel. Located 18 kilometers of Sapa town in the mountains of northern Vietnam, it stands out because of its simplicity and its proximity with nature and local inhabitants. Situated atop two hills, near Indochina’s highest peak, Mount Fansipan (3 143 meters), it provides a stunning view over Sapa Valley, as well as absolute quietness. In the building, don’t look for a swimming-pool or a spa because there are none: the place focuses on encountering local culture and sustainability. It employs many people from minority groups, and mainly serves regionally produced food. The bungalows feature elegant designs and private terraces to enjoy stunning surrounding scenery. The hotel’s restaurant is made of two traditional Tay stilt houses that have been moved piece by piece from their original site to the lodge. Within this typical architecture, guests may enjoy delicious Vietnamese cuisine.
