Settha Palace Hotel – Vientiane
In Vientiane, the Settha Palace Hotel is a building loaded with history. Built in 1932, it used to belong to a French family until 1975, date of the change of regime. Against their will, the family had to leave behind them their hotel, that was then transferred to the government’s property. Years later, during a holiday trip in Laos, the family came back and got their hearts broken by the place’s state of disrepair. The son, Billy, then decided to come back for good in 1994 and to lead renovation and restoration. Finally, the Settha Palace Hotel reopened to public in 1999. Since then, it has gained its notoriety back, providing its guests with exquisite luxury service. Ideally located at a walking distance from main attractions, it offers a wonderful setting with colonial architecture, tropical plants and refined furniture. Besides the pool, the spa and the gym, clients may enjoy La Belle Époque Restaurant’s dishes, whose menu combines both Lao and French cuisine.
