4 hours away driving from Saigon, Tra Su Forest appears as an off-road peaceful place. Stretching for almost 850 hectares, untouched nature is to be discovered near the Cambodian border, in the southern part of the country. The best time to go is between September to March, when water covers the forest and provides amazing landscapes. Embark on a boat and wind through the tranquil environment where animals and vegetal live their life in peace. The most impressive feature may be the duckweeds spreading everywhere on the surface of the water, covered with lotus flowers. Besides, the forest harbours many cajuput trees. It has also become a bird sanctuary preserving many bird species. On the edges of the forest, traditional villages can be visited as well.
